The Castle

Boldt Castle was built by George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on picturesque Heart Island.  This was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise.  In 1904, tragedy struck, his wife died of tuberculosis.  Immediately, Boldt stopped all construction leaving the castle unfinished, and never returned to Heart Island again.
